Entering the Meditation Hall
(Brianna Walther)

I often write haiku as a warm-up exercise before working with longer written forms, and as a way of staying connected with my meditation practice.

I enter
the meditation
hall and bow

I offer
a silent prayer
and sit

a bell sounds
the roar of silence
begins now

He held a piece
of paper 'tween
his thumbs gently.
